Job Description

Bloomscape is in need of a passionate, talented, and experienced Business Development Lead to drive strategy and execution of sales and brand partnerships. Fundamentally, this role is about finding and developing relationships with key partners to help Bloomscape drive growth and awareness.

The Business Development Lead will help Bloomscape drive growth through brand partnerships, product collaborations, drop-ship agreements with e-commerce retailers, and B2B sales relationships. This position must support our mission to build the most recognized brand in plants by making it simple to buy and experience plants in every area of the home and garden.

Bloomscape’s Business Development Lead must be proficient in sales and account management practices, including:
– Crafting partnership strategy based on company vision, mission, goals
– Leading outreach and relationship development
– Leading program proposal and negotiation process
– Establishing new program specifications
– Ongoing account management and program improvement

The Business Development Lead must develop partnerships that integrate well with the entire company. This includes:
– Coordinating price point targets with the operations team
– Providing program related forecasts for the supply team
– Assess future opportunities with the product development team
– Developing programs that build the Bloomscape brand with marketing team
– Understanding customer feedback by working with CX team

Bloomscape is looking for someone with the experience and versatility to get their hands dirty with direct sales for smaller B2B relationships, while running point with the team for larger relationships.

Responsibilities & Upcoming Projects

– Develop strategy to meet sales goals
– Manage incoming partnership requests
– Identify, target, and initiate conversations with brand-aligned potential partners and B2B businesses
– Develop programs and proposals
– Lead negotiation and contracts
– Relationship management and follow-through
– Create program documents to hand-off to operations & support
– Monitor, assess, and improve current programs
– Provide sales related feedback to marketing and product development
– Utilize Bloomscape standards, programs, and systems to collaborate with other team members


– Experience in sales and building programs
– Experience developing partnerships with other brands
– A track record of bringing programs to market
– Strong project management skills and experience managing a team
– Must be an independent, strategic, and creative thinker who is a strong team player (no job is too small or too large) and willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary
– Self-motivated with ability to work in ambiguity and still drive forward
– Ability to thrive in fast-paced ever-changing environment
– Excellent prioritization and problem-solving abilities
– Experience in consumer brands and/or DTC considered a big plus
– Passion for plants and the Bloomscape brand
