Helichrysum Care

Adaptable to both sunny and shaded areas, Helichrysum Ribbon is low maintenance and tolerant of heat and drought. In fact, Helichrysum care is quite easy and involves dead-heading the plant as the blooms start to dry out. Nonetheless, you'll get amazing results. With silvery-green branched foliage, Helichrysums add interesting visual textures to any outdoor garden.

How to care for your Helichrysum

Use these instructions to care for a Helichrysum. This guide will tell you how to water a Helichrysum; its light, temperature, humidity preferences and any additional care it might need to help it grow.

LIGHT

Helichrysum Ribbon will grow best in full to partial sun, but will also thrive in shadewhen grown outdoors. Placing the Helichrysum near a window where it would receive indirect filtered light would also keep your plant happy.

WATER

Water thoroughly when the top 25% of the soil feels dry to touch. Helichrysum Ribbons are hardy plants that are drought-tolerant, but grow better with regular watering and evenly moist (not soggy) soil. Also, remember to water your plant at soil level to avoid splashing the leaves. This prevents mildew growth from occurring.

FOOD

Your Helichrysum is a light eater. So, you need to fertilize just once a month using a diluted liquid fertilizer or add a slow-release fertilizer to the soil according to instructions.

ADDITIONAL CARE

To encourage bushier, thicker Helichrysum plants, feel free to pinch back growth every so often.
