Plant Mom Tips: Parlor Palm Care

I’ve put together some Parlor Palm care tips that will help you keep your plant baby happy, lush, and green. So don’t be nervous about keeping your Parlor Palm healthy and thriving, Plant Mom is here to help!

Tip 1: Not too dark

Parlor Palms are considered low-light palms, but that doesn’t mean “no-light”. They prefer bright, filtered light, but will adjust quite well to low light areas.

Tip 2: Just the right amount of water

Your  Parlor Palm prefers to be watered thoroughly and then allowed to dry a bit. Do not overwater it! In the winter months, water less frequently. Brown leaf tips often indicate overwatering, while yellow fronds tell you the plant needs a bit more water.

Tip 3: Lots of humidity

Your Parlor Palm will appreciate extra humidity, especially in the winter.  Mist 3-4 times a week, this will also discourage spider mites from attacking your plant since the misting helps keep the plant free of dust.

Tip 4: Give it a hair cut

Remove only the brown or yellow leaves as soon as they appear with a pair of sharp scissors. This keeps your plant looking healthy and allows it to spend its energy on new growth.
